AJSU leader complains against Jamshedpur’s Church School principal, others

Jamshedpur, Feb 8: All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU) leader Appu Tiwary has lodged a police complaint against the principal of Church School L Peterson, Robert Alexander, Ashfaque Alam, SP Sahu, SC Das and several others for allegedly issuing threats, assault and hurting religious sentiments.

In the written complaint to Bistupur police, Tiwary alleged that he along with BJP leader Ankit Anand and relatives of Rishant Ojha, class VII student of the school, had gone to meet Peterson in the school. During a meeting with the principal, the accused persons tried to put pressure on the guardians of Rishant Ojha, who was assaulted by another student recently during dispersal time, to take back their police complaint against the school officials .

Rishant suffered serious eye injury for which he is under treatment in Kolkata.

Tiwary said he had also sent copies of the complaint to Jharkhand DGP, East Singhbhum DC and SSP to seek action against the school principal and other management officials.

Tiwary further alleged that the accused persons called him �saffron-clad terrorist� and hurt his religious sentiments. He said the school officials had left Rishant Ojha helpless after he was assaulted by another student with belt. Rishant was later taken to Tata Main Hospital by his relatives, he said.

FIR lodged in haste: Ankit Anand

District BJP spokesperson Ankit Anand alleged that Bistupur police had shown haste in registering FIR against him and others in connection with the alleged manhandling of school officials during meeting. He said the police was delaying action against the school management despite getting a written complaint.

AJSU leader threatens massive stir

AJSU district spokesperson Appu Tiwary threatened to go on a massive stir in case police failed to take action against Church School officials. He said no one has the right to hurt religious sentiments of any individual. Hence police should take prompt action on the complaint lodged against the school principal and other officials, he said.
