AJSU activists stage dharna

Jamshedpur: All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU) Chhatra Sangh and Mahila Morcha members staged a dharna before the office of the deputy commissioner of East Singhbhum, Dr Amitabh Kaushal, on Thursday demanding that no action be taken against those arrested for fatally assaulting two persons trying to shoot Akhilesh Singh at Jamshedpur Civil Court.

The two persons were badly beaten up and rendered critical on the court premises after they failed in their alleged attempt to kill Akhilesh Singh, a life convict in the Jailor Uma Shankar Pandey murder case.

The AJSU leaders handed over a memorandum to the DC and the senior superintendent of police Amol Venukant Homkar seeking release of the arrested persons.

They threatened to gherao the residence of Chief Minister Hemant Soren in case their demands were not fulfilled.
