AISCE Zonal Inter school Debate Competition at KPS

Jamshedpur : A calm, open debate, and logical thought drives strength to its maximum effectiveness.

A two day long AISCE Zonal Inter school Debate Competition was held in the Kerala Public School, Mango. Students from 16 schools of the steel city participated in the junior category and 14 in the senior category.

On the first day students of grade IX and X participated and the next day it was the chance for XI and XII. On the first day The topic for the debate for the junior category (IX-X) was �Teaching is no more sought after profession.��

The students put up a stellar performance, speaking with clarity and depth of analysis. The judges on the first day were Ms Varsha Chand, secretary of Rotary Jamshedpur, West along with Mrs Nandita Sinha, Director, MYC who is also an educator and counselor.

Rahul Gorai of Kerala Public School,Kadma bagged the first prize, Smrity Prakash of Carmel Junior College was 1strunners up and Abdullah Farooque, Kerala Public School, mango was the 2nd�runners up.

On the second day seniors (XI-XII) argued fiercely on the topic � Teachers should not communicate with students via social media.�

The respected judges were Mrs Ujwala Asundi Kumar, MBA in marketing management who is a committee member at Anurag foundation and Dr Srikant Nair who is a dentist by profession and also an eminent Rotarian. In the senior category Aastha Talwar and Vijeet Sirinivas from Loyola bagged the first and second prize respectively and Jasmeet Kaur of Sacred Heart Convent got the third prize.

The two best speaker from each category will participate in the regional level competition. �

Among other dignitaries present were Mr Sharat Chandran, Director Kerala Public School, Mrs Alka Sinha, Principal, Kerala Public School, Mango and Mrs Arti Bedi, Vice Principal Kerala Public School, Mango.
