Jamshedpur, March 2: Jharkhand Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan addressed members of the Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), emphasizing the role of the business community in fostering state development. Speaking at the event, the Governor highlighted the importance of proactive engagement by chambers like SCCI in providing recommendations to both Raj Bhavan and the Government for overall state progress. He stressed the need for concerted efforts towards the development of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to diversify the state’s industrial landscape beyond the steel sector.

Governor Radhakrishnan emphasized the potential for tourism development in the region and encouraged collaboration among stakeholders to draw attention to tourism opportunities, similar to the Patratu tourist destination. He urged businesses not to solely rely on the government but to believe in their abilities and leverage their capabilities while moving forward with confidence.

Governor emphatically stated that the establishment of an airport is imperative for the region’s growth and connectivity.  Governor stated, “A dedicated airport in Jamshedpur is not just a luxury but a necessity for the burgeoning industrial and business activities in the region. It will not only facilitate smoother travel for residents but will also attract investments, boost tourism, and open up new avenues for commerce.”  The proposed airport in Jamshedpur is expected to enhance connectivity, reduce travel time, and provide a convenient mode of transportation for both business and leisure travelers.

He emphasized the need for improved healthcare, education, and city development in the state.

Earlier in the program, SCCI President Vijay Anand Moonka commended the Governor on his successful year in office and highlighted the abundant mineral wealth and natural beauty of Jharkhand. He also raised concerns over the delay in constructing the airport at Dhalbhumgarh in Jamshedpur.

The event was anchored by Honorary General Secretary Manav Kedia, with former President Murlidhar Kedia and Vice President Puneet Kauntia raising various development issues. Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal, Senior Superintendent of Police Kaushal Kishore and other administrative officers were also present.
