AIDSO protests shifting of Govt Polytechnic

Mail News Service

Saraikela: One of the best polytechnics in the state, the Government Polytechnic College in Adityapur is seeing an upheaval. This College has been seeing a rush for admissions but the building has not seen any repair or renovation since the past 7 or 8 years as a result of which it is in a state of dilapidation.

Instead of carrying out maintenance work, the government has decided to shift the institution to Khunti. The agitated students today, under the banner of All India Democratic Students Organization (AIDSO) carried out a mass protest and burnt an effigy of Chief Minister Raghubar Das and threatened that if the government did not take a quick decision on the matter, they would resort to violent demonstrations.

The students called an emergency meeting on the issue and decided to carry out phased demonstrations. The students of this Government Polytechnic College have been receiving good placements so far.
