AI to be introduced in Jamshedpur schools

Jamshedpur, Jan 29: Schools affiliated with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) in Jamshedpur will now incorporate Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, Data Science, and Robotics into their curriculum for students starting from class nine. This initiative, scheduled to commence from the current academic session, is a result of a decision made during the National Principals Conference held in Hyderabad.

The curriculum expansion aims to equip students with essential skills in emerging technologies, providing them with exposure to AI, machine learning, data science, and robotics. Additionally, students who wish to specialize in the field of computers will have the option to pursue further studies by incorporating subjects such as Computer Science, Robotics, and Artificial Intelligence into their academic journey.

Furthermore, as part of vocational courses, there will be ten “bagless” days, allowing students to delve deeper into their chosen subjects. Loyola School Bistupur and Gulmohur High School, in alignment with the decisions made at the National Conference, have already announced the introduction of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence studies in the upcoming session.

Preeti Sinha, Principal of Gulmohur High School, emphasized the importance of topics like AI and robotics, highlighting their inclusion in the board meeting discussions held in Hyderabad. An innovative stride in English language learning is also being taken at Loyola School, where a language lab has been established. Students in classes 3, 4, and 5 use technology to practice speaking English with an American accent. The lab provides a platform where children record their speech, and the technology aids in explaining the nuances of American English pronunciation.
