Jamshedpur, Sep 28: The 73rd Annual General Meeting of the Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) concluded at Chamber Bhawan, Bistupur, with a strong emphasis on trade, industry development, and the integration of AI and technology in business. President Vijay Anand Moonka welcomed former presidents, office bearers, and members to commence the proceedings.

In his address, President Moonka highlighted the Chamber’s efforts over the past year in resolving issues related to trade and industry, advocating for quick solutions, and working diligently with the guidance of former presidents. He stressed the importance of adopting AI and technology to keep pace with changing business landscapes and expressed the Chamber’s commitment towards supporting local businesses through initiatives like the ‘Vocal for Local’ campaign.

The SCCI President also mentioned recent extortion cases affecting members, noting that the Chamber’s swift action led to arrests with the help of the police. He announced plans to organize workshops on AI and start-ups to enhance members’ knowledge and urged them to stay united in addressing challenges.

Honorary General Secretary Manav Kedia presented the annual report, detailing the Chamber’s 90 programs over the past year aimed at addressing industry-related problems. Treasurer CA Anil Ringasia presented the audited financial statements for 2023-‘24, which were unanimously approved by the members.
The vice-presidents and secretaries of the Chamber’s sub-committees also presented reports and resolutions:
- Trade and Commerce: Vice-president Anil Modi and Secretary Bharat Makani discussed efforts to promote traditional traders against online commerce. They announced a Diwali Trade Fair from October 21-23 and highlighted initiatives such as the establishment of a textile park in Kolhan.
- Industry Sub-Committee: Vice-president Puneet Kauntia and Secretary Binod Sharma spoke on new business opportunities in Kolhan, the establishment of an Industrial Park, and plans for a branch of the MSME Facilitation Centre in Jamshedpur.
- Finance and Taxation Sub-Committee: Vice-president Advocate Rajeev Agarwal and Secretary Anshul Ringasia addressed GST-related concerns, announcing that a tax clinic would be organized to assist members.
- Public Relations and Welfare: Vice-president Abhishek Agarwal Goldy and Secretary Suresh Sharma Lipu outlined plans for public welfare projects, including the construction of an airport in Jamshedpur and development initiatives like direct train service from Tata to Jaipur.
The event concluded with the unanimous approval of resolutions, leaving members optimistic about future growth and development. Several prominent members, including former presidents and office bearers, were present, demonstrating strong support for the Chamber’s vision.
