After JD-U, HAM too plans contesting Jharkhand polls

Ranchi, August 4: After JD-U another ally of NDA, Hindustan Awami Morcha (HAM) is causing sleepless nights for BJP in the run-up to Jharkhand assembly polls.

During a meeting of the national executive of Hindustan Awami Morcha (HAM), a constituent of NDA, is being held in Ranchi. All the big leaders and workers of the party, including HAM party patron Jitan Ram Manjhi, attended the meeting on Sunday.

During this, Hindustan Awami Morcha (HAM) national president and Bihar minister Santosh Suman said that the national executive meeting is being held in Ranchi, where decisions are taken. Resolutions are passed and we decide the agenda for one year on those proposals. He said that there are many important issues which were discussed in detail.

Santosh Suman said that among the issues is the membership campaign in order to expand the organization in a big way in Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Jharkhand, and that was discussed today. He said that in this meeting, issues related to the upcoming assembly elections in Bihar were also discussed and also on preparations to contest elections in Jharkhand

He said that in today’s meeting, the opinion of the members was taken whether elections should be contested in Jharkhand or not. At what level does the party stand here. If the thought comes that elections should be contested here too, then we can talk to the NDA’s constituent party.

‘We will talk to the top leadership of BJP and put forward our views. We would like to contest elections from Jharkhand as well apart from Bihar and be the voice of the poor Dalits forward in Jharkhand,” said Suman.

He said that our party has contested the Lok Sabha elections and got one seat in a center.

“There is a Labor Party in Bihar. A proposal has been made to merge it with us. He said that people from Bihar come and work in Chatra, Palamu adjacent to Bihar and they understand our party. We can contest elections by forming an alliance,” said Suman.

At the same time, Suman said that there are 5-6 such assembly seats in Jharkhand to which they might stake claim.

“If we fight with the NDA alliance then it is fine and if a proposal comes to fight alone then that will also be considered,” he said.

He said that we want the party to contest elections from Jharkhand so that the organization can expand.
