Jamshedpur, Sept. 21: Corona deaths came back to haunt Jamshedpur again on Monday, a day after city reported no deaths due to the virus in over two months. Six COVID deaths were reported on Monday, September 21 taking the district toll to 295.
Meanwhile coronavirus cases have climbed to 12,246 in Jamshedpur with 429 new cases reported on Monday.
Positive tally has climbed to 12,246 while the death toll stands at 295.
402 people recovered of the virus on Monday taking the total recovery to 9752 while total active cases in Jamshedpur are 2199. The district administration spokesperson informed that 429 corona positives have been identified in the East Singhbhum district on Monday. East Singhbhum district administration has conducted 65019 test per million. The mortality rate in East Singhbhum stands at 2.4 % while recovery rate is 82.5%.
With a total of 1,321 fresh cases of Coronavirus being detected across the state on Monday the overall tally of Covid-19 patients in Jharkhand has climbed to 72,673.
Eleven deaths have been reported in Jharkhand on Monday including 6 from Jamshedpur, 3 from Dhanbad and one each from Deoghar and Ranchi.
The overall death count stands at 626 in Jharkhand.
As per the information provided by the health department the number of active cases in the state was around 13, 504 while number of cured and discharged cases is 58, 543. The total number of death caused by Coronavirus in the state stood at 626.
On Monday a maximum number of 429 cases were found in Jamshedpur followed by 176 in Ranchi, 141 in Hazaribagh, 71 in Garhwa, 34 in Saraikela and 36 in West Singhbhum districts.
A total of 1,599 number of people were also cured and discharged from various dedicated Covid-19 facilities during the day including 402 from Jamshedpur.
Despite the rampant rise in Coronavirus cases across the state the recovery rate of Covid-19 patients has improved significantly and has once again gone above 75 percent mark.
The first case of the pandemic was reported from Hindpiri on March 31, when a 22-year-old Malaysian woman, who had been to Delhi�s Tablighi Jamaat congregation, tested positive. She has since been discharged after being recorded from the dreaded disease.
The Jharkhand government has extended the coronavirus pandemic-triggered lockdown in containment zone in the state till September 30. However, all the economic activities in the state are allowed outside containment zones.
The hotels, dharmshala, lodge and guest houses reopened after around 6 months following SOPs and guidelines of the government. Restaurants and shopping malls also resumed after a long time.
