Jamshedpur: Social thinker and advocate Sudhir Kumar Pappu has claimed that the Narendra Modi-led Central Government is facing growing criticism both within the country and abroad, alleging that public dissatisfaction has increased over a range of political, economic and social issues.

In a press statement issued on Tuesday, Pappu alleged that the government has failed to adequately address concerns related to inflation, unemployment and development, while accusing it of diverting public attention through issues such as communal politics, demonetisation, the COVID-19 period, actions by central investigative agencies, fuel price hikes, caste-related matters, UGC issues and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

He further alleged that there is growing resentment among youth and students, claiming that many are preparing for large-scale protests against the government. Pappu also criticised the Centre over the situation in Manipur and accused it of weakening democratic institutions by targeting opposition leaders and encouraging political defections.

Referring to the BJP’s internal affairs, Pappu alleged that discontent is brewing within the party and claimed that a proposed Union Cabinet reshuffle has been delayed due to fears of internal dissent. He further asserted that several senior BJP leaders are becoming disillusioned with the party’s functioning.

Pappu also referred to recent controversies surrounding the Ayodhya Ram Mandir and claimed that the Prime Minister has faced criticism during overseas visits.
