Jamshedpur, Dec. 9: East Singhbhum district administration as part of implementing Swachh Bharat Mission in rural areas especially for construction of individual toilets today launched ‘zid karo sauchalaya ki, bano swachata doot’.
A pilot project related to the initiative at Prathmik Vidyalaya in Tiring under Potka block under the leadership of East Singhbhum district public relation officer (DPRO) Sanjay Kumar Pandey.
“ It is on of our ambitious projects. This is a pilot project wherein based on information provided by Tiring panchayat samity member Urmila Samad and para-teacher Krishna Singh Sardar (a residence of the same village) we identified 60 students whose parents have not constructed individual toilets despite taking funds under government project. We want children to join our hands and fight for their rights,” the DPRO said.
The students were asked if they will be able to motivate their parents for construction of individual toilets.
“I am really happy to share that all the 60 students who were very embarrassed at the acts of their parents expressed their promise not only to create pressure on their parents for construction of toilets but also their neighbours who have not constructed toilets despite taking government funds,” said Sanjay Kumar Pandey.
As per Swachh Bharat Mission component of individual toilets, the central government will provide Rs 6,000 while the state government will provide the remaining Rs 6,000 for construction of toilets under this scheme (a total of Rs 12,000).
