Jamshedpur : East Singhbhum district administration is all charged up for the election counting exercise scheduled on December 23. While the Deputy Commissionercum-district returning officer for the Assembly election Amitabh Kaushal has ensured smooth conduct of the counting exercise, the political parties are also planning to hold a ‘show of strength’ near the strong room on the day of counting.
According to information, the administration is short listing counting personnel who would be engaged in the exercise. The counting for six constituencies in the district, Bahragora, Ghatshila, Potka, Jamshedpur East, Jamshedpur West and Jugsalai would take place at Jamshedpur Co-operative College. Separate counting tables would be arranged for each seat.
The DC, during a meeting with the district officials issued some instructions and asked them to follow them strictly. Besides, he has asked the strong room personnel to maintain the time schedule so that complete process gets off at the earliest.
Meanwhile, sources in the district administration has said that results of all the six Assembly seatsJamshedpur East, Jamshedpur West, Jugsalai, Potka, Baharagora and Ghatshila will be announced by 1 pm.
Jugsalai and Jamshedpur West having 303248 and 320568 voters will have the maximum number of rounds while other Assembly seats counting will be completed by noon. Counting will be done simultaneously in 14 tables in each of the six Assembly seats and each counting table will have a counting supervisor and counting micro-observer.
Each assembly segment will have an assistant returning officer (ARO) and three micro-observers. Like in past this time too, the political parties in fray for elections would put up make shift tents outside Jamshedpur Co-operative College, venue of the counting exercise.
“We are going to put up a big tent, where our senior leaders and activists would hold in during the day of counting. We are planning to take out a victory procession in the city after winners are declared,” said Anil Modi, district spokesperson, BJP.
In addition to this the representatives of the political parties too, have been well informed in advance about the conduct warranted of them on the D-day. Parties like Jharhkand Vikas Morcha, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, and AJSU are also planning a big show on the day of counting.
“We have decided to be present in large numbers near the strong room as a part of support to our candidate. Our idea is to showcase unity and faith in the party,” said Firoz Khan, a leader of JVM. Meanwhile, the police administration has asked the policemen to get strict with the people or, for that matter, political party members who throng the strong room area in drunken state of mind.
