Administration convenes meeting over Republic Day celebration in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: The Deputy Commissioner, Amit Kumar, has called upon officials of government departments and citizens to cooperate with the district administration in celebrating the Republic Day on a grand scale at Gopal Maidan on January 26.
Presiding over a meeting of the district-level Republic Day Celebration Committee, he said various sub-committees had been formed to discuss cultural programmes to be chalked out in connection with the Republic Day. He asked teachers and officials of the Education Department to complete rehearsals for primary and secondary school students in time.
The city will be wrapped up in a multi-layered security chain on the eve of the Republic Day.
School students, cadets of NCC, JAP, CRPF, RAF and district police would participate in the parade. The DC has also decided to felicitate all the participants in the parade.
Police will issue instructions to the general public against carrying any inflammable items, bags and other such things into the parade ground. Spectators would be subjected to police checking before gaining entry into the grounds.
