Jamshedpur, Dec 4: The playground of ADLS Sunshine School was filled with fun, excitement and zeal on Saturday on the occasion of annual sports day.
The whole school was in festive mood and the atmosphere was frolicsome. The theme of the day was ‘Save Water’.
Ashish Kumar, CEO of Hockey Ace Foundation and Head, Sports, Tata Steel was the Chief Guest.
The students of four houses namely–Topaz, Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald presented March Past.
The celebrations continued with lighting of the sports torch and oath taking ceremony by the sports minister B Urvashi. The sports meet was declared open by the Chief Guest.
Chief Guest in his address emphasised on how important sports is in a child’s life and for overall development. He also applauded the school management, Principal Manju Singh and teachers for shaping up the lives of the students so efficiently and providing all the facilities needed to become responsible citizens.
He congratulated the winners and the participants for the wonderful effort they had put in. A beautiful musical drill display on ‘Save Water’ mesmerised the audience.
True sportsmanship qualities were showcased by the students. A message to save water was imparted through a drill display. The tiny tots were a part of events like – Get ready for party, crown for my best friend, Pick up potato race, Swachh bharat race and many more field events.
The prizes were given away to the winners of the events.
Emerald House with 129 points bagged the first position followed by Sapphire House with 121 points and Topaz House 115 points.
Ruby House was declared best in March Past as it scored 129 points.
