Jamshedpur: Day 2 of ‘Wheels 2019’ prelims doubled the excitement level of the participants. Students actively participated in various events held during the day.
Technical events- ‘Bridge The Gap’ and ‘Route the Truck’ drew maximum participants.
In ‘Bridge The Gap’ event at Engineers Hall (Mess) participants had to design a bridge from Popsicle sticks with the highest possible load capacity that also meets the required specifications for its geometry. The bridges were to be surface loaded with weights. The bridge sustaining the maximum load wins.
In ‘Route the Truck’ event Engineers Hall (Music Room) aimed at participants to experience the lost childhood in a more technical way.
It is a real-life based brain teaser to enhance your mental strength and logical reasoning. In �ROUTE THE TRUCK�, an empty truck started from a collection point and reached back after collecting all the wastes from Entire Township.
Participants had to find the best possible route that will consume minimum time and cost.
The sporting event ‘Flash’ held at the Telco Ground saw participants full of enthusiasm. The 400 meters relay race was divided into two sections. Boys and girls from class 5th to 8th and class 9th to 12th participated.
The ‘Nukkad’ event held at Engineers Hall (Parking Lot) connected with the common man, breaking all social formalities. Students displayed their hidden talent by raising voice against a social issue.
In ‘AD MAD Show’ at Engineers Hall (Badminton Court) students indulged in marketing of goods by learning new ways and showcased their creativity in marketing products and service. Students acted out on various advertisement script and ideas. All the teams were given a time frame to showcase their talent.
Other events of day two included Danceverse (duel/group) were students got a chance explore themselves. Students displayed their dancing moves mesmerized the crowd.
‘Youth Parliament’ at Management Training Centre the participants addressed the mass with thoughts and questions pertaining issues that the country is up against and put a motion forward. This Parliament session was simulation of the actual parliament with bill presentation, committee formation, voting etc. events followed in orderly manner.
In ‘Crafty Clay’ event at Engineers Hall (Parking lot) students prepared clay models.
The quizzing event ‘Qriousity’ was also held at MTC.
The ‘Word Wizard’ competition saw participation of every student studying in Grades 1-12. The event aimed to facilitate effective learning.
The prelims will conclude on December 22 followed by Marathon that will take place on 23rd of December 2018 with the underlying agenda of taking a pledge for sustainable use of ‘ENVIRUNMENT-Let�s Paryavaran’.
This year the theme for 32nd edition of Wheels is �ANKURAN-Nurturing Innovations�. Organised by the Graduate Engineer Trainee (G.E.T) Club, the finals of �Wheels 2019� will take place from 11th to 13th January, 2019.
