Active Covid cases down to 162 in Jamshedpur after 27 people recover in a day, 25 new cases

Jamshedpur, June 24: Jamshedpur reported 25 new COVID-19 infections on Wednesday, according to East Singhbhum health bulletin. 

The declining new positive cases in the district has come as a relief for the city and also the overburdened hospitals.

Jamshedpur recorded 25 new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday while 27 patients recovered of the virus and no death was reported as the number of active patients remained below 170 in East Singhbhum district, health bulletin showed. 

With this, the overall number of positive cases reached 51467 in Jamshedpur, according to East Singhbhum’s Health Department data for a 24-hour period.

The death toll remained at 1047 in Jamshedpur as zero death was recorded during the day, the data showed.

On the brighter side, 27 patients recovered in Jamshedpur, with the overall recoveries surging to 50,258, it showed.

The active cases have come down to 162 in Jamshedpur, according to the official figures.

The mortality rate stood at 2.03% and recovery rate at 97.70% in Jamshedpur, the statistics showed.

Of the 25 new cases, 11 are from Baharagora, 3 each from Jugsalai and Baridih and 1 each from Potka, Musabani, Mango, Sonari, Patamda, Kadma, Sakchi and Ghatsila.

With just 25 new Covid-19 cases, Jamshedpur’s positivity rate on Wednesday remained below 1%, as the city stayed on the recovery path after a brutal wave of infections between April and May.

The positivity rate stood at 0.43% on Wednesday.

Jamshedpur also saw 27 people recover of the virus on Wednesday. Of the 162 patients still undergoing treatment for the coronavirus in the district, most are in home isolation, while some are being treated at care centres and hospitals. 

More than 5500 were tested on the day. Data from the state government’s daily health bulletin showed that the Covid-19 test positivity is 0.43%. The state, too, witnessed a massive fall in infections and fatalities.

The positivity rate of Covid-19 cases in Jamshedpur is around 0.43 per cent after East Singhbhum conducted over 5500 tests in the last 24 hours. 

The Steel City tested 5766 samples, of which, 25 turned out positive while 27 people recovered from the Covid-19. The continuous high number of tests have pushed the positivity rate further down to 0.43 per cent, the government data showed.
