Active Covid-19 cases down to 101 in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, July 2: Coronavirus cases continue to decline in Jamshedpur owing to a greater number of recoveries than fresh cases.

10 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the East Singhbhum district, while no death was reported on Friday, July 2. The new positives in Jamshedpur took the Coronavirus tally to 51582.

18 people recovered of the virus on Friday taking the total recovery to 50431 while total active cases in Jamshedpur are 101.

Of the 101 patients still undergoing treatment for the coronavirus in the district, most are in home isolation, while some are being treated at care centres and hospitals. 

Jamshedpur has seen a sharp decline in their total cases in the past four weeks. The death remained at 1050.

As many as 18 people recovered from the virus on Friday taking the overall recoveries to 5031 which accounts for a recovery rate of 97.79%, which is the highest so far.

East Singhbhum district administration has conducted 407644 test per million in the district. The recovery rate in Jamshedpur is 97.79% while the mortality rate is 2.04 %.

With just 10 new Covid-19 cases, Jamshedpur’s positivity rate on Friday remained below 1%, as the city stayed on the recovery path after a brutal wave of infections between April and May. The positivity rate stood at 0.41% on Friday.

 More than 2000 were tested on the day. Data from the state government’s daily health bulletin showed that the Covid-19 test positivity is 0.41%. The state, too, witnessed a massive fall in infections and fatalities.

The positivity rate of Covid-19 cases in Jamshedpur is around 0.41 per cent after East Singhbhum conducted over 2000 tests in the last 24 hours. 

The Steel City tested 2450 samples, of which, 10 turned out positive while 18 people recovered from the Covid-19. The continuous high numbers of tests have pushed the positivity rate further down to 0.41 per cent, the government data showed.

So far in Jamshedpur 1098198 samples have been collected out of which 1085147 have been tested and 1033565 have turned out to be negative.
