ABVP embarks on Sandesh Rath Yatra

Jamshedpur : Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), as part of the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda embarked on Sandesh Rath Yatra on Wednesday.

The drive was launched at Graduate School College for Women. The drive will discuss issues pertaining to the illegal entry of Bangladesh nationals into the region.

About three crore illegal migrants from the country were living in India and they had outnumbered the local population in several districts of Assam, the ABVP representatives said. The situation had resulted in socio-economic problems. Extremist activities were also a matter of serious concern in the region, they said.

ABVP senior functionary Amitabh Senapati said that the ABVP has over 4,700 units and it was functioning from over 2,700 places in the country. The organisation had over 15 lakh members.
