Jamshedpur: A mass Grihapravesh (housewarming) program was organized in the Baharagora Block premises to celebrate the completion and formal handover of houses constructed under the Abua Awas Yojana, a flagship housing scheme of the Jharkhand government aimed at uplifting economically weaker sections.
As part of the event, 21 beneficiaries were symbolically handed over the keys and gifts to their new homes by MLA of Baharagora Sameer Mohanty and Deputy Development Commissioner Nagendra Paswan. The atmosphere was celebratory as the event marked a new beginning for families moving into safe and permanent homes.

In line with local traditions, Grihapravesh rituals were also conducted at the Gram Panchayat level, where beneficiaries performed customary practices such as breaking coconuts and cutting ribbons to formally enter their new homes.
The event was attended by Block Development Officer Keshav Bharti, Circle Officer Raja Ram Singh Munda, Police Station Incharge, Panchayat Samiti Members, concerned Mukhiyas, and several local public representatives, adding significance to the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, MLA Sameer Mohanty lauded the state government’s commitment to inclusive development and dignified living. He stated, “This scheme is not just about constructing houses but about laying the foundation of a dignified life for the underprivileged. Through Abua Awas Yojana, the government is ensuring that needy families are brought into the mainstream by providing them with permanent shelter.”
The program served as a reminder of the government’s continued efforts to bridge housing gaps in rural areas and reaffirmed its mission to ensure social security and improved living standards for all.
