Jamshedpur : Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supporters burst crackers, and danced as the party headed to a victory in the Delhi election.
The supporters started distributing ladoos and flowers amongst people.
At Sakchi roundabout supporters celebrated the win. AAP supporters in large numbers gathered and raised slogans like ‘Panch Saal Kejriwal’ and ‘Mujhe chahiye Jan Lokpal’.
They also waved party symbol broomstick carrying flags. Sumant Choudhary, AAP East Singhbhum district spokesperson said :We also plan to install giant screen for the masses to watch the oath swearing-in ceremony at Delhi tentatively scheduled on February 14.
“We already have more than 20,000 members in the East Singhbhum district and with the Delhi Assembly results the number would further swell,” said a senior district AAP member.
Celebrations were also organised at Adityapur roundabout in neighbhouring Seraikela-Kharsawan district and also at Mango roundabout.
The AAP sup- porters believe that although Kejriwal’s ambition to defeat Modi failed in parliamentary election in Varanasi, where he was defeated by a margin of about 3.37 lakh votes by Modi, but he shattered BJP’s dream completely in Delhi.
“It is the victory of common man, who showed trust in Kejriwal and the policies of AAP,” said an AAP worker Rakesh Kumar Singh.
Taking lessons of past mistakes the party distanced itself from negative politics, and succeeded in winning the confidence of Delhi people,” he said adding that the grand victory has also enhanced the responsibility enormously.
Jubilant AAP workers expressed their joy by carrying out victory processions in areas of the city. As
soon as the picture of AAP’s victory became clear, they assembled and celebrated with colours.
On the other hand, a silence prevailed in local BJP camp, and the leaders talked about introspection. “It is the essence of democracy.
We should do introspection and analyze the factors responsible for defeat in Delhi,” said senior BJP leader.
