Aadi Mahotsav 2023 concludes in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Oct 21:  In a grand culmination, the 14-day ‘Aadi Mahotsav on Friday,  celebration of tribal entrepreneurship, craft, culture, cuisine, and commerce’ marked a vibrant showcase of diversity and talent.
Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri and Senior Superintendent of Police  Kishore Kaushal graced the closing ceremony at Gopal Maidan in Bistupur, uplifting the spirits of craftsmen and artists.
During the event, senior officials explored stalls representing different states, offering encouragement to craftsmen and artists. Exceptional entrepreneurs were acknowledged for their contributions to the festival.
The DC emphasized the cultural richness presented by craftsmen from across the country. He highlighted the importance of preserving traditional skills and arts, expressing gratitude for the opportunity. The festival, he stated, serves as a platform to recognize and support craftsmen economically.
SSP lauded the initiative, praising its success in promoting cultural heritage and showcasing exquisite handicrafts. He commended Jamshedpur for hosting an event that celebrates tribal entrepreneurship, crafts, culture, cuisine, commerce, and traditional arts.
The festival saw participation from 336 tribal artisans, including Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG) and Van Dhan Kendra beneficiaries. Over 150 stalls exhibited arts, handicrafts, natural products, and delectable cuisine, with 100 focusing on handicrafts, 20 on Indian tribal cuisine, and 30 on various ministry products.
This Aadi Mahotsav not only provided a platform for economic opportunities but also fostered an understanding of diverse tribal cultures, lifestyles, and traditions. The district administration, along with the Khadi Board, is committed to supporting craftsmen, ensuring their recognition, and enhancing their market presence.
