Jamshedpur: The Jamshedpur Music Circle (JMC) in association with Sangit Kala Kendra in Tube-Baridih along with the city�s classical music exponents will organize �A Tribute to Kaveri� on December 17 at 6:30 pm in Hotel Misti Inn, Bhalubasa.
Popular classical singer Kaveri Dutta who died of multiple organ failure on December 10, was an inspiration to many exponents in this genre.
Anindita Gupta, Seema Bangobash, Taposhi Karanjai, Nupur Goswmi, Sujan Chatterjee, Pankaj Jha, Manmohan Singh, Birendra Upadhyay, Animitra Roy Chowdhury, Sangita Chatterjee, Prita Banerjee and Master Rauhik Bagchi will present classical songs and bhajans. The instrumentalists will include table players Swarup Moitra, Pradip Bhattacharjee, Amitabh Sen, Shyama Chakraborty and Partho Priya Das. Gursharan Singh on Naal, and Ashok Singh and Ashok Das on flute will provide accompaniment to the singers.
Twelve famous classical singers and 8 instrumentalists will participate in the program designed as a tribute to the late Kaveri Dutta.
Kaveri was an active member of JMC and served at the Sangit Kala Kendra, Tube-Baridh and DBMS School in Kadma. She was the holder of the title Sangit Prabhakar from Sangit Kala Kendra and Sangit Pravin from Prayag Sangit Samiti.
