74 vehicles fined for parking violations in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: In a bid to streamline traffic and alleviate road congestion, the district administration, under the instructions of District Magistrate cum Deputy Commissioner  Ananya Mittal, conducted an intensive investigation campaign targeting no-parking zones in Sakchi and Bistupur.

The operation was led by Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Dhalbhum, Shatabdi Majumdar, in collaboration with District Transport Officer  Dhananjay, Traffic DSP, and Motor Vehicle Inspector (MVI)  Suraj Hembram.

A total of 74 vehicles, including two-wheelers, four-wheelers, and autos, were fined for being parked in no-parking areas. The campaign focused on critical traffic hotspots such as Sakchi Kalimati Road, Bistupur Kharkai Link Road, Bistupur Gol Chakkar to Chappan Bhog, and the Viprit Road stretch.

Highlighting the motive behind the drive, SDM Dhalbhum  Majumdar urged residents to refrain from parking in no-parking zones, stating, “Roadside parking creates significant inconvenience for commuters and contributes to traffic congestion. Strict action will continue to ensure smoother traffic flow.”

The administration has announced that future violations in no-parking zones will result in vehicles being confiscated. Offenders will only be able to reclaim their vehicles upon payment of the prescribed fine.

  1. One day vigilance server no purpose. One big drama. More traffic police needed at all these areas round the clock 365 days. More signals with police vigilance, needed for smooth traffic flow. Traffic police with proper training needed during morning and afternoon school hours when there is maximum traffic on the road.

  2. Very unfortunate in Jamshedpur. No law and order. No restrictions on sale of vehicles. There is no road; No foot path for pedestrian No traffic signals in the town. No check on illigal migrants encroachments on road side huts. Small children begging at traffic junctions.
