71 Crorepati candidates in Jharkhand Assembly Elections: INDIA and NDA lead the pack

38 candidates of INDIA and 33 candidates of NDA are crorepatis

Ranchi, Nov 6: In the upcoming assembly elections, a total of 71 crorepati candidates from INDI Alliance and NDA are contesting across 43 constituencies in Jharkhand. The INDI Alliance, consisting of JMM, Congress, and RJD, has fielded 38 crorepati candidates, while the NDA, made up of BJP, AJSU, and LJP, has 33 such candidates.

Among the NDA parties, BJP leads with the highest number of crorepatis, fielding 30 candidates in this phase. The other NDA parties, JDU, AJSU, and LJP, have fielded 2, 3, and 1 crorepati candidates respectively. On the INDI Alliance side, JMM, contesting 23 seats, has 18 crorepatis, while Congress (17 seats) has 16, and RJD (5 seats) has 4 crorepatis. Congress dominates with the wealthiest candidates Congress has the highest number of candidates with significant assets, with four of the top five richest candidates from the party. Among these, KN Tripathi, contesting from Daltenganj, stands out as the richest candidate with assets exceeding Rs 70.91 crore. In contrast, the poorest candidate in this electoral phase is Dinesh Chandra Boipai of AJSU from Manoharpur, with assets worth only Rs 25.66 lakh.

Lakhpati candidates also in the raceA total of 18 lakhpati candidates are also vying for votes, with BJP fielding 8, JMM 5, AJSU 3, Congress 2, and RJD 1. These candidates are also making their presence felt in the first phase of the election.
