69th Saastha Preethi celebration begins today at Dharma Saastha Temple

Jamshedpur, Jan. 24: The 69th Saastha Preethi celebrations of Uttara Dharma Saastha Temple, will be held from January 25 to February 5, 2017 at temple premises in Bistupur, said P N Sankaran, Working President, Uttara Dharma Saastha Temple.

Addressing a Press Conference on the eve of the programme at the Temple, P N Sankaran, said that during the 12-day celebrations, Shata Chandi and Adi Lakshmi Adi Narayana Hridayam Yagna will be held from 27th January to 1st February.

The Pujas will commence with a Sankalp on 25th January evening in which permission will be respectfully sought from the all the presiding deities and will be invited (avahan) for beginning of the pujas. On 26th January morning, Maha Ganapati Havan, Moola Mantra Japa and Kalasha Sthapana will be done performed after which the Shata Chandi and Adi Lakshmi Adi Narayana Hridayam Maha Yagna will start.

21 ved pandits from South India who will arrive in Jamshedpur on 25th January morning will be performing the pujas and the havan.

Devi Mahatyam (Durga Shapta Sadhi) will also be chanted for 100 times by the Ved Pandits during the entire duration of the pujas. Other pujas include Ashta Lakshmi japam, kalash abhishek, Mahanyasa Purvaka Ekadasa Rudra Poornabhishek for Lord Dharma Sastha, Lord Maha Ganapathi and Lord Karthik. Bhagavati Seva, Satyanarayana puja and Tulsi puja will also be performed during the celebrations at the Temple.

In the evenings, Ved Parayan will be held on all the puja days while traditional South Indian classical songs and Bhajan will be organized for which eminent artists from South India have been invited.

As is done every year, on 4th of February evening, a colourful procession of Lord Maha Ganapathy, Lord Ayyappa and Lord Karthik will be taken out from the Temple which will traverse through main road of Bistupur. On the concluding day, on 5th February Mkadas Rudra Poornabhishek for Lord Ayyappa, Ekadasa Rudra Abhishek for Lord Maha Ganapathi and Lord Karthik will be held.
