Jamshedpur: The 68th Trishul Utsav and 118th birth anniversary of Swami Pranavananda, founder of Bharat Sevashram Sangha was celebrated on the premises of Bharat Sevashram Sangha in Sonari on Friday.
The three day event kicked off with a flag hoisting ceremony of the sangha by cultural secretary of the sangha Sashwatnandaji Maharaj.
The Trishul Utsav which marks the birth anniversary of Swami Pranavananda, founder of the sangha also last year coincided with the centenary celebrations of the social and welfare activities of the philanthropic outfit.
The second day of the celebration will witness a grand procession to be flagged off from the sangha premises in Sonari. The last day of the celebration will see a special session on Hindu Dharma Sanskriti Sammelan.
Apart from Munda, Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahto and state food and civil supplies minister Sarayu Roy would participate in the special session.
Students of BSS Pranavananda Centenary Residential High School will stage cultural preformances on the second day. Moreover, a host of cultural performances will be staged by a troupe from Midnapore.
The secretary of the sangha appealed the people of the steel city attend the three-day celebrations and make the event a grand success.
Secretary of the sangha Ajit Maharaj informed that Union minister of state for tribal affairs Sudarshan Bhagat will participate on the second day of the celebration on January 5.
” As per our schedule the minister will participate in a tribal conference to be organised as a part of the celebration.
Former chief minister Arjun Munda will also attend the tribal conference,” he said.
