66th Saastha Preethi Celebration concludes

Jamshedpur, Feb 2: The 66th Saastha Preethi celebrations, which started on 23rd January, concluded with Poornabhishek for Lord Dharma Saastha on Sunday, Feb 2.

Commencing with Maha Ganapati Puja, installation of 17 Kalash for Abhishek later on, the Poornabhishek began by bathing Lord Dharma Saastha initially with 2 kg of Til oil and with �Panchkavya� (consisting of milk, ghee, curd, cow urine and cow dung).

After which cleansing with �Panchamitra� (holy mix of 20 kgs of gur, honey, bananas, kismis and dry dates) started.

While 11 times of Mahanyasa Rudrabhishek was performed by the vedic priests, Lord Dharma Saastha was given a holy bath with 2 kgs of ghee, 1.5 litres of milk, 1.5 litres of curd, 1 kg of honey, 20 litres of sugar cane juice, lime juice extricated from 300 lemons, 40 nos of raw coconut water and � kg of sandal paste.

Kalashabhishek was performed to all the presiding deities at the temple by the priests. It was a treat to watch the embellishment and decorations which were done by the main priests of the temple, Shiv Shankar Bhatt and Nagaraj Bhatt.

After the Maha Deeparadhana, P N Sankaran, Working President of the Temple performed the Arati for the presiding deities of the Temple.

Nearly 10,000 devotees witnessed today�s Puja and Abhishek and were offered Prasad by K S Jayaraman, the Secretary and Kashi Vishwanath, the Joint Secretary and other committee members and volunteers of the Temple.
