Jamshedpur, April 10: The health department has launched vaccination campaign for the Japanese Encephalitis (JE) in the East Singhbhum district.
To make the campaign successful, a special training was organised for 120 nurses at MGM Hospital on Monday. During the training, district surveillance officer Dr Sahir Pal informed the nurses about the upkeep of the vaccination and how to inject it.
Dr Sahir Pal informed that for the first time vaccination campaign for the Japanese Encephalitis will be launched for the first time on April 12 in East Singhbhum district.
Under the camping, 6.3 lakh children of age group 1 to 15 will be given JE vaccination. Every child will be vaccinated with 0.5 ml injection.
In the first week of the 15 day campaign, around 3.5 lakh children of 1 to 5 years age will given vaccination at Anganbadi kendra and the rest will be vaccinated in the second week at all government schools and by visiting the villages. For the vaccination campaign all the government schools have been issued letters.
