Non-destructive characterization
Jamshedpur, Jan 29: The Institution of Engineers (India), Jamshedpur Local Centre and Indian Society for Non Destructive Testing,(ISNT) Jamshedpur Chapter jointly orgainsed Workshop on ” Non Destructive Characterization” on Wednesday, Jan 29 at The Institution of Engineers Premises in Sakchi.
These days various Non Destructive Evaluation techniques are being used to get information regarding Micro -Structural and Mechanical Properties of Materials which are subjected to various heat treatments and stress conditions and can be used in the real industrial practices.
Dr. S Palit, Vice Chairman , ISNT presented her welcome address and Dr. A Mitra , Chief Scientist , NML , Jamshedpur delivered technical presentation on Characterisation of semi-finished and in-service steel product using electromagnetic NDE techniques.
More than 55 delegates from different organisations like Tata Steel, Tata Motors, NML, NIT, Alkabir Polytechnic and Small Scale Industries, Adityapur participated in the workshop.
The entire programme was co-ordinated by A K Paul and S Balamurugan while Dr. A K Vaish,Vice Chairman , IEI, Jamshedpur Local Centre proposed the vote of thanks.
