Fire safety lapses uncovered at Aam Bagan firecracker stalls
Jamshedpur, Oct 18: In the lead-up to Diwali, the Aam Bagan ground in Jamshedpur has been adorned with colorful firecracker stalls, as per the directives of the district administration.
However, a recent inspection by the fire department personnel revealed serious lapses in fire safety compliance.
During a targeted safety audit, officials discovered that several vendors were storing expired fire extinguishers at their stalls, a glaring violation of safety protocols.
Authorities warned that such negligence could have catastrophic consequences and instructed shopkeepers to immediately replace the outdated equipment, failing which punitive measures will be enforced.
The fire department also issued specific instructions to enhance on-site preparedness, including keeping water-filled drums and maintaining four to five bags of sand at each stall to tackle potential fire incidents.
The proactive inspection underscores the administration’s commitment to ensuring a safe and joyous Diwali for all, reminding vendors and visitors alike that celebration must never come at the cost of safety.
