51 feet high Ravan burnt in Jamshedpur amid firework

Jamshedpur, Oct 7: A grand Ravan Dahan programme was organized at Vir Kunwar Singh Maidan, Chhota Govindpur, on the occasion of Dussehra on Wednesday. A 51 feet high effigy of Ravan was burnt to mark the victory of the good over evil.

The chief guest of the event was Meera Munda, wife of Union Minister Arjun Munda while the guest of honour was former state BJP spokesperson Amarpreet Singh Kale. Many other dignitaries were also present during the programme.

Several hundred people gathered to witness the spectacular event. Firework that lasted for around two hours stole the show.

According to Kamlesh Singh, chief of the organizing committee, Ravan’s effigy was prepared by the artisans of Jhargram, West Bengal.

The organizes claimed that more than 10,000 people from Telco, Rahargora, Barigora, Gadra, Bada Govindpur and other areas had gathered to see Ravan Dahan.
