Jamshedpur, October 13: Police raided an illegal gambling den running near Roshni tent house located at Shankosai Road number 5 under Ulidih police station today.
In this connection, the police have arrested five people. The arrested accused include Sunny Gop, resident of Birsa Road, Raju Kumbhkar, Rohit Samad, resident of Jawaharnagar Road No. 4, Vikas Kumar Chaurasia, resident of Dimna Road Sal Maidan and Mohammed Wazir resident of Baganshahi Road No. 7.
Police have seized Rs 18,285, two gambling accounting boards and a mobile phone from the spot.
DSP CCR Animesh Gupta said that the police had received secret information that a Matka stand was being operated illegally in the area. On information, police formed a team and conducted a raid. During the raid, five people were arrested from the spot, who have been sent to judicial custody.
