Seraikela: Seraikela-Kharsawan Deputy Commissioner Chhavi Ranjan granted forest lease to 477 people on Thursday at a meeting of the District Forest Right Committee. He also gave approval to a proposal for granting forest lease to communities.
According to Arun Walter Sanga, Project Director, Integrated Tribal Development Authority, the forest lease rights were granted to pave way for the execution of various public utility and welfare proposals. The forest lease was granted for village roads, community buildings, anganbari centres, ponds, primary schools and public thoroughfare, he said.
The meeting was also attended by the divisional forest officer A Ekka, Zila Parishad member Jhingi Hembram, Rani Hembram and Vir Kunwar Singh Banra.
