Deputy superintendent of police (traffic) Vivekanand Thakur who is also acting as DSP (City) said that Kamal was a bachelor and used to run a business of mobile phone recharge.
He went on to inform that as per the initial investigation it appears that the murder might be the outcome of property dispute between the brothers, including the cousins. Kamal was the second among three brothers.
The elder brother Pramod resides separately at East Plant Bustee and the younger brother Vimal who is a teacher based in Ahmedabad.
The murder victim would stay in the Mahundia Bhavan with his cousin brother Pawan Mahundia, who owns a hardwar shop, staying in a portion of the double-storeyed building.
A senior police officer said Pramod Mahundia who resides at East Plant Bustee is bed-ridden as he is suffering from acute hernia problem.
“We are investigating the murder. We are keeping a close watch on the murder case. We expect to detect the case only after grilling to the victim’s brothers, Pramod, Vimal and Pawan Mahundia when the last rites get through,” said the police officer.
Pawan’s wife, Priya Mahundia found Kamal lying in a pool of blood. ” I was shocked to see someone lying in front of the house.
Soon came out and identified the man lying there in a pool of blood was Kamal.
Then I informed my husband who in turn informed the Burmamines thana,” said Priya. Priya, when queried, said there was no dispute between the family members over any issue.”
