Jamshedpur, May 3: As per the instructions of District Transport Officer Dinesh Ranjan, the road safety team conducted vehicle checking campaign at Jubilee Park on Wednesday.
DRSM Prakash Kumar Giri, Road Safety Engineer Naveen Kumar and IT Assistant Ajay Kumar were included in the vehicle checking team.
In all 43 people were fined on the spot and a fine of Rs 62,000 was recovered in the investigation campaign against the drivers who disobeyed the rules of road safety. Most of the drivers who broke the traffic rules were found without helmet while some were caught for triple riding and without driving license.
On the spot, the drivers who violate the traffic rules were informed about the traffic rules so that the loss of life and property in any kind of road accident can be reduced. Online challan will be sent to 50 such vehicle drivers for triple riding, rash driving and driving away despite being stopped by the police. The District Transport Officer said that this investigation campaign is being conducted with the aim of creating awareness among people about road safety so that road accidents can be reduced in the district. He appealed to the residents of the district to follow the traffic rules. The team of the Transport Department and the traffic police will conduct regular investigation campaigns, in such a situation avoid paying fines by following the traffic rules.

What about 3 wheelers and goods carriage vehicle,
Great job. Such campaigns should be carried out more frequently specially on long stretches of roads where over speeding & reckless driving is more frequently like on Outer circle road.
Also illegal parking should be checked (specially cars, autos & bikes parked on Outer Circle Road, Bistupur Main Road etc. block almost a complete lane and slows down the traffic).
