40th JYOTI Basketball tournament kicks off at Loyola School Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Oct 27: The 40th JYOTI Basketball Tournament, hosted by Loyola School, Bistupur, began on Sunday, October 27, bringing together 14 local schools for three days of exciting competition. Organized by the Jamshedpur Youth Organisation for Tomorrow’s India (JYOTI Club), this annual event has become a key platform for young athletes to showcase their talents while fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and a love for basketball.

JYOTI Club, an organization promoting fellowship and humanitarian services among high school students, holds a rich legacy of 53 years. The basketball tournament, now in its fourth decade, continues to be one of the most anticipated sporting events in the city.

The participating schools in this year’s tournament include: St. Mary’s English High School, Tarapore Agrico, DBMS Kadma, Kerala Public School, Kadma, Kerala Public School, Mango, Kerala Public School, Burmamines, Loyola School, Telco, Kasidih High School, Sacred Heart Convent School, Carmel Junior College, Dayanand Public School, Loyola Project School, Xavier School, Gamharia and hosts Loyola School, Bistupur.

Over the course of three days, these schools will battle for the championship title, with the tournament culminating in a final match on October 29.

 

Spectators can expect to witness thrilling matchups, fierce competition, and outstanding athletic performances from some of the region’s most talented young basketball players.
