Jamshedpur, Oct 9: Tata Motors has announced a 4-day block closure at its Jamshedpur plant, starting from Thursday, October 10. A circular issued by the plant head outlines the company’s decision to shut down operations temporarily. Employees will receive 50% of their salary during this period.
The block closure will begin on October 10, with those called in for duty being granted a compensatory leave the following day. Additionally, Friday, October 11, has been declared a holiday in lieu of duty performed on a previous Sunday. The company will observe Vijaya Dashami on Saturday, October 12, followed by a regular weekly holiday on Sunday, October 13.
Tata Motors has implemented several block closures this financial year, affecting employee pay and impacting the Adityapur industrial area. These closures are taken in line with previous agreements based on work orders.
