Jamshedpur: A 35-year-old civil construction worker was stabbed to death at Hayat Nagar under Ulidih police station area in Mango last night.
The incident took place at around 8 pm when the victim-Sheikh Rabbani was returning home. While he was crossing an alley near his house, two persons of his same age attacked him with a sharp knife.
Soon a police patrolling jeep reached the spot and rushed Rabbani to the MGM Medical College and. But, doctors at the emergency wing of the state-run hospital declared his as brought dead. The body was later sent to the morgue.
Officer-in-charge of Ulidih police police station S B Tiwary who had gone to the spot of the crime said the murder was an outcome of personal enemity. ” As per our probe the attackers were known to Rabbani. They were close friends and were drug addicts. However, we are trying to find out as to what led to such a fatal attack,” said Tiwary.
No arrests have been made so far. But, Tiwary said they are carrying out raids in the area and are hopeful of arresting the accused by tonight.
Rabbani’s wife Rehana, lodged an FIR at the Ulidih police station today suspecting hands of four persons- Md. Riyaz, Md Niyaz, Mehboob Quereshi and Md Rustam in the conspiracy and murder of her husband.
