Jamshedpur, July 30: In a broad-day-light shooting incident, unidentified bike-borne criminals shot dead a 33-year-old trader at Jemco locality under Telco police station area on Thursday afternoon.
The victim was identified Moni Das and he was sitting at his elder brother’s hardware shop when two youths came on a bike and fired shots and fled the spot on their bike. As the victim sustained four shots, he fell down in a pool of blood. The local people rushed him to MGM Medical College Hospital, where the doctors on the emergency duty declared him dead.

Telco thana OC, Akhilesh Kumar Mandal reached the spot and talked to the victim’s brother Kishore Das while starting investigation into the broad-day-light murder. “We are investigating the incident. We are expecting we will be able to detect the case shortly,” said Mandal.
An official said that they are trying to find out CCTV footage of those who shot Moni Das dead. He said they are also study the call details records (CDR).
A resident of Mahanand Nagar in Telco, Moni would run a business of building materials, whereas his elder brother Kishore has a hardware shop close to the victim’s office.

Kishore Das said Moni had no enmity with anyone and all that causing his brother’s murder took place suddenly.
“I am in state of shock. My brother had no rivals. As I was going home for lunch, I stopped to talk with a known policeman. Then only someone close to me informed me that my brother was shot at. Soon I rushed to the spot and then to the medical college hospital taking Moni whose condition was very critical,” said Kishore.
