32nd Jamshedpur book fair to run from Nov. 11 to 20

Jamshedpur, October 24: Like previous years, Tagore Society is gearing up to organize Jamshedpur book fair at Rabindra Bhawan premises in Sakchi.

This will be society�s 32nd book fair which would begin on November 11 at 6.30 pm amid cultural programmes. The fair will continue till November 20 where more than 70 publishers and exhibitors from all over the country will participate.

The stalls at the book fair will have books for every section of the society from children to the elders according to their choice. The Tagore society, organizer of the book fair has called for a working committee meeting to decide about the theme of the fair this year. The organisers this year also have planned to conduct seminar, cultural events along with inter-school quiz on the sidelines of the book fair. The subject for the quiz will be �Sports and games of India�.

The entry fee and timings of the book fair will remain same like previous years. For the common people entry will be Rs 5 per person while for the students coming in school dress will have to pay Rs 2. On Saturdays and Sundays the timing of the fair will be 10 am to 8.30 pm while on other weekdays the fair will open at 2 pm and close at 8.30 pm.

�32nd Jamshedpur book fair will be held from 11 to 20 November at Rabindra Bhawan premises. The preparations are on for the smooth conduct of the fair and we will hold a meeting in coming days to decide about the theme of the fair�, said Ashish Choudhary, general secretary of Tagore Society.

On the security front, both the gates and inside the fair security personnel will be present for which the organisers will take support of the district administration and fire department.

15 CCTV cameras will be installed to keep an eye on any untoward incident while a control room will also be set up to monitor the activities inside the fair.

Significantly, the Jamshedpur book fair started in 1985 with only 27 publishers and now more than 70 publishers are participating.
