Jamshedpur, Feb 5: The appointment of 303 health workers in various government hospitals of East Singhbhum district will be completed by March under the National Health Mission (NHM). The District Health Committee is overseeing the recruitment process, which includes 12 different types of contractual posts. To ensure a fair selection, a written efficiency test is scheduled from February 4 to 7, with examination centres set up at multiple locations in the city. The highest number of vacancies—219 posts—are for ANM-RCH (Auxiliary Nurse Midwife – Reproductive and Child Health). The delay in these appointments had been causing difficulties for patients, particularly in rural areas where healthcare services were severely affected due to staff shortages. The Civil Surgeon is conducting the recruitment process and once these positions are filled, patients will receive much-needed relief in government hospitals across the district.

The recruitment includes 49 posts for Staff Nurse-RCH, 14 for Pharmacist-RBSK, 9 for Block Data Manager-RCH, 3 for GNM-CHC-NCD Clinic, 1 for Nutritional Counsellor-MTC, 1 for Staff Nurse-DERC and 1 for Dental Technician-DEIC. Additionally, one person each will be appointed for the positions of Social Worker-RBSK, Counsellor-District NCD Clinic, Ophthalmic Assistant and Psychiatric Social Worker. These appointments aim to strengthen healthcare services in government hospitals, ensuring better medical support for patients.

The recruitment drive has received an overwhelming response, with more applications submitted than available vacancies. The ANM-RCH post has seen the highest number of applicants, followed closely by staff nurse positions. The NHM recruitment is a significant step toward improving healthcare services across the district, ensuring that trained professionals are available to cater to patients’ needs. Once appointed, the new recruits will be deployed across various hospitals and healthcare centers, strengthening the overall public health infrastructure in East Singhbhum.
