3-day Guru Purnima Mahotsav to begin on July 17

Jamshedpur, July 13: Bharatiya Yugavashistha Brahmananda Sangha’s much awaited annual event Guru Purnima Mahotsav will begin on July 17. The three-day event will host several cultural and religious programs at Rabindra Bhawan in Sakchi and Brahmolokdham in Kadma.

The annual event of socio-religious organization Bharatiya Yugavashistha Brahmananda Sangha is celebrating age old bond in Jamshedpur since last 24 years.

About 2,000 members of the sangha, which organizes the festival, along with hundreds of outstation members will arrive in the steel city.

The annual event will begin Cultural program deep prajwalan, which will be inaugurated by Saryu Rai, state food and civil supplies minister on Sunday, July 17 at Rabindra Bhawan.

This will be followed by Drama on ‘Samarpan’ by Kolkata branch at 10.45 a.m. The Mumbai/Nasik branch will showcase drama on ‘Sneha Mamta’ from 12.15 p.m.

Deep prajwalan will be held at 4.30 p.m. followed by drama on ‘Bhakti ka Bhao’ by Cuttack, Muzzafarpur and Kharagpur branches. The first day will conclude with drama on ‘Satyabadi Raja Harischandra’ by Varanasi branch. All the programs on the first day will be held at Rabindra Bhawan.

Kripabindu Bhattacharjee, president of Bharatiya Yugavashistha Brahmananda Sangha, said devotees from different branches such as Delhi, Calcutta, Mumbai, Indore, Raipur, Varanasi, Muzaffarpur Cuttack, Puri and Ranchi will arrive for the three day festival.

Cultural program on the second day (July 18) will be inaugurated by Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahato at 4.30 p.m. This will be followed by Drama on ‘Punarvas’ by Delhi Branch.

A documentary film will be screened by Varanasi Branch at 6.30 pm while Jamshedpur branch will put up drama on ‘Sutaputra Karna’ at 7 pm in Rabindra Bhawan, Kripabindu Bhattacharjee said.

Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, Bhattacharjee said, the three-day event will come to a close on Tuesday, July 19. The concluding day will kick-off with Guru Pujan at Brahmolokdham at 9 a.m.

The cultural program will be inaugurated by Banna Gupta, former MLA, at Rabindra Bhawan in the evening. This will be followed by closing ceremony.

Bharatiya Yugavashistha Brahmananda Sangha is a religious outfit founded by Srimad Brahmananda Shastri, a former head priest of Beldih Kalibari.
