Jamshedpur, Dec. 5: 29 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the East Singhbhum district, while no death was reported on Saturday, December 5. The new positives in Jamshedpur took the Coronavirus tally to 16915.
21 people recovered of the virus on Saturday taking the total recovery to 16331 while total active cases in Jamshedpur are 212.
East Singhbhum district administration has conducted 147584 test per million in the district. The recovery rate in Jamshedpur is 97% while the mortality rate is 2.2 %.
So far in Jamshedpur 409333 samples have been collected out of which 392868 have been tested and 375953 have turned out to be negative.
On the other hand, Coronavirus tally in the state on Saturday reached to 1,10,186 as 196 cases of Covid-19 were detected across 19 districts of Jharkhand. During the day 1 death was reported from Ranchi district as a result of which the overall death count has reached to 979. The mortality rate among the patients currently stands at 0.88 per cent. As per the information provided by the health department the number of active cases in the state was 1,845 while the number of cured and discharged cases stood at 1,07,362. The total number of death caused by Coronavirus in the state stood at 979.
On Saturday a maximum number of 80 cases were found in Ranchi followed by 24 each in Bokaro and Dhanbad, 9 in East Singhbhum, 8 in West Singhbhum and 7 in Palamu (top five districts). A total of 288 people were also cured and discharged from various dedicated Covid-19 facilities during the day including 106 from Ranchi, 32 from Dhanbad, 21 from East Singhbhum, 19 from Deoghar and 18 from Bokaro. Despite the rampant rise in Coronavirus cases across the state the recovery rate of Covid-19 patients has improved significantly and has once gone above 97 per cent mark to currently stand at 97.41 per cent in Jharkhand. So far in the state 43,35,483 samples have been collected out of which 43,19,581 have been tested and 42,09,395 have turned out to be negative.
