Jamshedpur, Dec 25: On the occasion of the Silver Jubilee Year of the Horticultural Society JUSCO & Horticultural Society Jamshedpur with the help of Tata Steel will be organizing Annual Flower Show cum Horticulture Expo-2013 at Gopal Maidan from 27 to 30th December 2013. This is the first time such a mega event is being held in the city which will help denizens weekend more pleasant.
On 27th judging of the exhibits by the Eminent Horticulture Scientists from different parts of the country will be organized and on the same day, the entry will be only for the participants, not for the general public. The show will be opened for the general public from 28th December to 30the December, 2013, said Captain Dhanjay Mishra of Jusco.
Mishra added that the total show arena is divided into two parts i.e. Arena for Annual Flower Show (Left side of the entry) and Arena for Horticulture Expo (Right side of the entry).
There will be display of various flowers by different organizations (40) as well as individuals. Competition of different category of potted seasonal flower, perennial flower, potted fruits and vegetables, potted foliage plants, cacti and succulents, bonsai, cut flowers, bouquets and garlands, medicinal and aromatically plants will be held which have been divided into two categories i.e. Institutional and Amateur.
Mishra further informed that in the Horticulture Expo Arena, there will be 65 numbers of stalls where participants from all across the country which includes retailers, importers, exporters, trades in herebal medicinal plants, seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, garden tools, spraying equipments, pumps and farm machineries etc.
Present on the occasion Surekha Nerurkar, Chairperson, Jamshedpur Horticulture Society said that there will be open competitions for vegetables and fruits especially for local farmers of nearby areas and for the benefit of flower lovers 30 numbers of sale counters will be provided adjacent to the flower show venue for exhibition and sale.
Also present at the press meet MD Jusco, Ashish Mathur said that it is a unique platform that horticulture society has given and with flowers we can say that it is a natural way of living. More and more citizens should turn up for the show and students who are only study oriented should also enjoy their weekend with the colourful flowers.

The number of stalls has been increased to 135 as compared to 70 last year.
Anand Sen, President (TQM & Steel Business) will be present as the Chief Guest and will inaugurate the show on 28th December 2013 at 11.00am and P.N. Singh, President, TWU will be the Guest of Honour of the inaugural function.
