Jamshedpur, May 12: 254 migrant workers from Midnapur in West Bengal arrived by bus in Barshole on the interstate border of East Singhbhum. Deputy Commissioner Ravi Shankar Shukla, SSP M Tamil Vanan, Ghatshila SDO Amar Kumar, DSP Raj Kumar Mehta, BDO Rajesh Kumar Sahu, BDO Shalini Khalkho, CO Hira Kumar, CO Arvind Ojha and the Baharagora and Barshole police OCs were present when the migrants arrived and gave detailed instructions and remained there until the migrants were sent by bus to their respective districts. The migrants from West Bengal hailed from Sahebganj, Bokaro, Jamtara, Ramgarh, Palamau, Saraikela-Kharsawan, Chaibasa and other districts of Jharkhand.
The team of doctors and medical staff who checked the migrants� primary health conditions pertaining to coronavirus infection were team in-charge Dr OP Chowdhary, Dr Prince Pingua, Dr Surai Mardi and Dr Suparna Nayak along with other health personnel.
The West Bengal migrants were offloaded from the buses in a manner to maintain social distancing norms. They were made to stand apart at a distance of one meter. They underwent thermal scanning and their online data entries were made. They were given detailed instructions to stay in home quarantine when they reached home. they were then sent away to their respective districts. Their medical examinations were conducted at Barshole Navoday Vidyalay campus.
Meanwhile 120 migrant laborers from West Bengal who had already completed their full quarantine period including 21 who were quarantined in Baharagora were sent to their home state form the Bengal-Jharkhand interstate border at Barshole.
