5260 km new railway tracks built in last one year: Minister

Jamshedpur, November 21: Tatanagar station will be made a world class level station. Keeping in mind the coming 50 years, the residents of the city can send their suggestions to the Railways through the local MP regarding what needs should be there in Tatanagar station.

 Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said these things on reaching Tatanagar station. He said that many new railway tracks are being built across the country by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In the last nine and a half years, about 21 thousand kilometers of new tracks have been built. In the last one year, 5260 kilometers of new tracks were built.

On security, the Railway Minister said that a lot of work has been done on this. Before 2014, there were usually around 170 accidents in a year. But now that number has come down to around 47. There is a need to do even better regarding security. In the last nine and a half years, five lakh jobs have been given to the youth, now again the process for one and a half lakh jobs has been completed.
