Jamshedpur: Jharkhand High Court grants bail to wife “murderer’

Jamshedpur, October 19: The court of Jharkhand High Court Justice Deepak Roshan granted bail to Ajay Kushwaha, accused of beating his wife Sangeeta Kushwaha of Govindpur Khakripada to death.

While the accused Ajay’s brother Dheeraj, Suresh, sister-in-law Subhadra, sister-in-law Durjania, nephew Vijay, nephew Dinesh and niece Rani were acquitted due to lack of evidence.

The defense counsel argued in the court that the incident occurred on July 24, 2022 and the FIR was filed late on September 8. The reason for this was not explained clearly.

Accused husband Ajay got the benefit of this.

Incidentally, two months after the incident of Sangeeta Kushwaha’s death, a FIR was lodged against the accused husband Ajay by her father-in-law and Rewa resident Ram Manohar in Parsudih police station. After the incident, the accused husband has been in jail since 9 months ago on 11th February.

Ajay Kushwaha of Rewa, Madhya Pradesh, along with his wife Sangeeta Kushwaha, used to work as vegetable growers on the land of Narayan Besra in Govindpur Khakripada. On July 24, on the suspicion of being of bad character, he assaulted his wife and the latter drank pesticide in anger.

When the situation worsened after this incident, Sangeeta’s parents took her to Rewa in Madhya Pradesh for treatment. She died during treatment there on July 29.

Advocate Dilip Kumar Karmakar and advocate Sudhir Kumar Pappu presented their side on behalf of the defense in the court. Today the High Court granted bail to accused husband Ajay Kushwaha, while accused Ajay’s brother Dheeraj, Suresh’s sister-in-law Subhadra, sister-in-law Durjaniya, nephew Vijay, nephew Dinesh and niece Rani were acquitted due to lack of evidence.
