Jamshedpur, July 10: XLRI – Xavier School of Management, Jamshedpur organized special health screening camp in collaboration with Tata 1mg on 6th and 7th July 2025. The initiative, driven by the Student Wellbeing Committee, aimed to create greater awareness around preventive healthcare and ensure access to quality diagnostic services for all members of the XLRI ecosystem.
The camp was inaugurated following the signing of a formal MoU between XLRI and Tata 1mg on 5th July 2025. The health check-up included four specially curated, non-fasting packages ranging from ₹499 to ₹1999, covering an extensive range of diagnostic tests including CBC, HbA1c, Thyroid, Lipid Profile and more.

A total of 215 individuals participated in the health camp, comprising students, faculty, staff, family members and campus security personnel. XLRI sponsored the basic health package worth ₹499 for all first-year students and security staff as a gesture of care and commitment to the pillars of its community. This underlined the institute’s continued emphasis on health, dignity and mutual responsibility.

The collection drive operated across two full days from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM on Sunday, and from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM on Monday — ensuring ample flexibility for participation. 215 samples were collected over the two days, with 1st-year students and security staff comprising the majority. Several participants also opted for higher packages or additional tests, tailoring their diagnostics based on personal health priorities.
Dr. (Fr.) Donald D’Silva, S.J., Dean (Administration & Finance) said: “At XLRI, we believe that education goes hand-in-hand with wellbeing. This health camp, in collaboration with Tata 1mg, reflects our holistic approach towards campus life where students, staff, and support personnel are all valued. By extending free screenings to our first-year students and security staff, we are living our mission of inclusiveness and care. Health is not just an individual responsibility, it is a collective priority, and we’re proud to support that at XLRI. For a healthy mind, you need a healthy body and as we welcome the first-year students, we wish them a healthy start to pursue the rigour of management training at XLRI. As a responsible institute, we consider it our duty to take this precaution and ensure they remain safe and healthy on campus.”
Prof. Kalyan Bhaskar, Convenor of the Student Wellbeing Committee, shared, “At XLRI, we deeply value the physical and emotional well-being of our students and staff. This health camp was not just a medical initiative but a reflection of our responsibility as a values-driven institution.”
The event was coordinated closely with Tata 1mg’s Delhi headquarters, and a second health check-up is being planned for November this year, ensuring ongoing access to quality care, making preventive health a structured part of campus life at XLRI.
