Jamshedpur, Sept 12: At the 613th free eye cure camp organized by the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), East Singhbhum Branch, in association with Ram Manohar Lohia Netralay, Chimanlal Bhalotia Seva Sansthan, Rajasthan Seva Sadan the District Rural Health Committee and the Rotary Club of Jamshedpur Steel City, at Ram Manohar Lohia Netralay, Bagbera, 21 patients underwent cataract surgery performed by eminent eye surgeon Dr BP Singh, Dr Poonam Singh, Dr Bharati Sharma and Dr Vivek Kedia. Free lenses were implanted. Patients who underwent the cataract removal operations were given precautionary guidelines to be adopted post operative period.
This three day eye camp is being held to celebrate the birthday of Dilip Goel, social worker and patron of Red Cross Society, Jamshedpur. Speaking on the occasion, Hon general secretary of the IRCS district unit, Bijay Kumar Singh said that the patients who were operated on Sunday would be discharged on Monday, September 13 after post operative checkup and provision of medicines and dark glasses.
On the occasion, President, Ram Manohar Seva Sansthan Balmukund Goel, Manoj Kumar Bagri, Managing Committee Member, Banwarilal Khandelwal, social activist and Mr Rakesh Mishra of Red Cross Society were present. While volunteers and members of Red Cross Society and Ram Manohar Lohia Seva Sansthan assisted in the smooth conducting of the operations, all recommended COVID19 guidelines were adhered to during the camp.
Incidentally, as part of birthday celebrations of Dilip Goel, a blood donation camp will also be held at Red Cross Bhawan, Sakchi, on 14th September 2021.
