Tata Steel Foundation sets up Model Career Centre, launch app
Jamshedpur, Feb 25: Tata Steel Foundation (TSF) in partnership with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has established East India’s first Model Career Centre (MCC) at Tata Steel Technical Institute in Burmamines, Jamshedpur with an aim to guide/counsel the jobseekers to pursue right career choices and support them to provide with better placement opportunities.
MCC centre was inaugurated today by Chanakya Chaudhary, Director Tata Steel Foundation and VP CS Tata Steel

Tata Steel Foundation CII Model Career Centre organised first Job Fair Event at Jamshedpur to coincide with the inaugural day of centre and the launch of a mobile application.
Around 7000 candidates registered online but 2000 candidates were invited from East Singhbhum because of Covid restriction and were provided jobs.
13 companies including TRF, Five S Digital, Bajaj Finance, Sodexo, Eicher, Tata Motors, NTTF, Team Lease, Force Motors, Highco Engineering, Quess Corp and Logskim participated for the event with total 2000 plus openings.
Logskim provided maximum 800 jobs. Rs 20,000 is the highest salary offered to candidates.
MCC mobile application can be downloaded starting March 1, 2022 and job seekers can also upload their biodata.
CII and Tata Steel Foundation will improve employability skills of youth and connect them to the concerned companies according to their need.
Chanakya Chaudhary said, “This initiative will provide a platform to the niche group of jobseekers who are either unaware of or cannot access other job portals. While the services of MCC are open to all jobseekers, but focus would be reach out to the youth from socially and economically marginalized sections of the society. On the other hand, MCC provide the support to the industries for hiring the right talent pool to reduce the skill gap. Although like any other industries, MCC operation was impacted due to pandemic but after constant efforts and rigorous process, MCC has connected various industries viz. manufacturing, service, hospitality, retails, e-commerce etc. to place the required workforce from eastern region.”
Also present were Sougata Roy Chaudhary, CII MCC CEO, Sourav Roy, Chief CSR Tata Steel, Capt. Amitabh, Head Skill Development, Tata Steel, BK Singh, Principal, Tata Steel Technical Institute, Vijay Bhullar from CII Jharkhand.
